Practice Schedule

For a detailed practice schedule, visit our main team site.

Why do we have a summer schedule? We practice at the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center (the CRC). From Memorial Day to the end of July, the CRC reduces staffed hours as their on campus population decreases. Summer hours occur during long course seaon, which means we have 10 lanes each 50 meters instead of the usual 20 lanes, which also reduces lane access. For 2025, hours were reduced slightly more than is typical, which limited the lanes each of the teams could rent. Coaches will be making some adjustments to practices to help everyone get in a good workout in 3 lanes. At any time, but especially during these 10 weeks, swimmers can adjust their speed upward for lanes by wearing fins or the use of other equipment.

What happens in early August? The CRC closes approximately four weeks each year between terms including two weeks in August. We will have some events, but we will not have regular swim practice during CRC closures.

Are dues reduced in summer? No - dues are set the same all year. We set dues each December based on expenses incurred during the preceding 12 months. As a not-for-profit member managed team, our goal is to set those dues at a break-even point.
